Summer Party Invitations

As my calendar fills with barbeques and summer parties, Adoniram’s Memorial Day post has me inspired to throw one of my own! However, I would have a tough time deciding which invitation to choose. These are all so fun and clever, they are a wonderful way have guests looking forward to your gathering weeks in advance. If I received one of these invitations in the mail, I would clear my schedule! Which one is your favorite?

Sand and Sea: A Wedding Aquatic

As refreshing as cool, clear water, aqua and teal tones are always a perfect compliment to rich ivory, sand, and gold tones. The stunning Crane & Co. Ecru Lettre Kensington Card invitation ensemble with "Peacock" ink (center left) and the rich teal Dots & Stripes Border card by eInvite that could accompany as the save-the-date (center right), are the pieces that first inform guests of your aquatic affair. Whimsical octopus earrings from Anthropologie are an unexpected delight. Beach glass vases of varying heights would pair nicely with sea grass braided storage baskets holding programs or fans (bottom, both from West Elm). Finally, Brides.com offers ideas for a seaside placesetting, with plates that seem to hold the ocean's bubbles, and sand dollar cookies as a cute take-away favor (top left and right).

Destination: Somewhere Sunny

Perhaps it's the horrendous ice storm that clamored our region and left lots of central Massachusetts still without power, but I'm dreaming of tropical getaways today. My soon to be sister-in-law had a lovely destination wedding in the Bahamas five years ago that was an amazing way to gather everyone in celebration. It was all about salty hair, warm sand, fruity drinks, and intimate gatherings around a beachfront bonfire. Doesn't sound so bad right about now...

eInvite has some of the most fun destination wedding invitations and save-the-dates available. Enjoy! (clockwise from top left) Jet Set, Hibiscus, Fuchsia Festivities, Airplane, Play Tag, Passport, Boarding Pass, Par Avion.

And good luck to all those in the Northeast still struggling with the aftermath of the ice storm! Thinking of you all...
